Everyone has their own definition of what an emergency is.  The red book called 'What Should I Do?' gives advice about when to contact your Doctor.  When it says contact your Doctor immediately, we expect you to do just that - whatever the time of day or night.  The book also advises on when it is appropriate to go straight to the hospital's Accident & Emergency Department.
